BlogKnicks' Twitter Ignites as Jalen Brunson's Injury Spurs Gritty Victory Against 2nd-Seeded Cleveland Cavaliers: Fans Hail Team as 'Absolute Dawgs

Less than a minute after tip-off on Sunday, Jalen Brunson left the Cleveland Cavaliers game. It looked like Brunson had a knee issue, and he needed assistance getting into the dressing room. The fact that he was not there inspired the New York Knicks to victory over the Cavaliers.

Mitchell Robinson, OG Anunoby, and Julius Randle were not there as the Knicks started the game; all three are anticipated to return later this month. After Brunson’s injury, they had to play for each other, and that turned out to be a terrific motivator.

Leading the way with 28 points, six rebounds, and four assists was Donte DiVincenzo. Miles McBride contributed 16 points, and Bojan Bogdanovic scored 20 points off the bench. Josh Hart finished with 13 points, 19 rebounds, and 10 assists for a triple-double.

Following their courageous victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers, New York Knicks supporters were elated. While Jalen Brunson is causing concern for some, most others are pleased with the statement victory. The Cavs had been among the better teams in the East for the last two months, so it was a wonderful feeling for them.

One fan wrote:

“Absolute dawgs.”

Another fan loved what he saw from his Knicks:

“THE guttiest win of the season – and fun game.”

This fan has a different take:

“Not sure how much it means. Knicks just have Cavs number for whatever reason. Certain teams just give certain teams first. Cavs are better than Knicks but yet would probably get swept by them in a series.”

Here are other memes and reactions to the gutsy victory:
